Said I Love You Said “I love you”, and then she walked away said “I love you” but now I need to get away said “I love you” but now I need some space My hearts in a bad way and I need you outta my face I said I love you, ain’t it plain And if you walk away I still will feel the same Said I love you, but I don’t know what you need Find your way baby, back to a love that’s guaranteed Chorus Oh… said I love you… Oh…. I do Oh … said I love you… Verse Why do I love you, I hear you say Said I love you, but you’re always gone Said I love you but it’s starting to feel wrong Said I love you, but I’m tired of being alone Tell me something baby is there something here worth pushin’ on Slammin’ door, a heart in pain I want you back and I don’t mean to complain Here we go, ‘round again Will this roller coaster ever stop? Chorus Oh… said I love you… Oh… I do Oh… said I love you… Why do I love you when I always seem to pay? Why do I love you, oh when I feel so bad Is this the best love, the love you give me the love I’ve had

She came from a small town And all she knew was Find yourself a man And settle on down, settle on down Forget all your dreams that Don’t include babies Don’t dare to be great girl just Settle on down, settle on down Find a bad a job, maybe Baggin’ groceries Barely pays the bills but you Settle on down, settle on down When the beatings come Though they’re born of frustration Better mind your manners girl When you settle on down, settle on down When she looks into her daughters eyes Well she longs for a better way She wants to turn her back on this town But she knows there’ll be Hell to pay She’ll find herself a better dream Gonna find a better place Leave this town and never look back Gonna dare to be great Take her daddie's pistol Keep it just in case Some folks won’t like her leavin’ But she’ll never look back, never look back Had to pinch her pennies And find a hiding place Grab a few belongings then she’d Never look back, never look back Pack up both her babies And load ‘em in the truck Slip out of town at midnight And never look back, never look back Her life had turned a corner When she crossed the tracks Headin’ for the morning and she Never looked back, no she never looked back When she looks into her daughters eyes Well she longs for a better way She wants to turn her back on this town But she knows there’ll be Hell to pay She’ll find herself a better dream Gonna find a better place Leave this town and never look back Gonna dare to be great

‘Til Valhalla Feb – 2016, Jerry Gray, In memory of Eric Leow To walk, to run, to climb again To see a sky so blue To laugh, to joke, to smile again A moment to talk with you To hold your hand To love again I’d give it all for that To look into your eyes again Wish I could bring you back Chorus I remember looking back Wonderin’ where you’d gone I remember looking back for you If we had just one more day, brother So many things I’d say I remember looking back for you But I will remember What you’ve done and what you’ve said And I will remember, ‘til Valhalla, my friend The woods, the streams Recall your name I hear it whispered there As I walk along the path I feel you everywhere You left too soon This much is true A plan we’re asked to trust And though we’ll try, we’ll need some help So please watch over us Chorus I remember looking back Wonderin’ where you’d gone I remember looking back for you If we had just one more day, brother So many things I’d say I remember looking back for you But I will remember What you’ve done and what you’ve said And I will remember, ‘til Valhalla, my friend

Sometimes 03:38
So where’s it gonna go from here Been tryin’ to find my self for years Sometimes it seems the road is clear but then I Wonder what the Hell I’m doing here. Sometimes, sometimes, sometimes, sometimes… Getting’ older well, that’s for sure My back is achin’ and my knees are sore But inside I still feel like a pup Still wonder what I’m gonna be when I grow up Sometimes, sometimes, sometimes, sometimes… Sometimes I wonder what I should do Sometimes my head’s in the blue Sometimes I wonder, sometime I do Sometimes you just have to chose… Each choice in my life turns another page The reason I made ‘em has faded with age One thing is certain, one thing is clear Don’t take yourself too serious or be like me sitting here Sometimes, sometimes, sometimes, sometimes… Each choice in my life turns another page Sometimes, sometimes Still wonder what I’m gonna be when I grow up Sometimes, sometimes Sometimes, sometimes, sometimes, sometimes…

Turn 04:01
My soul cries out with the joyful shout that the God of my heart is great And my spirit sings of the wondrous things that you bring to the ones who wait You fixed your sight on your servants plight and my weakness you did not spurn So from east to west shall my name be blest. Could the world be about to turn? Though I am small my God my all you work great things in me And your mercy will last from the depths of the past to the end of the age to be Your very name puts the proud to shame and those who would for you yearn You will show your might put the strong to flight for the world is about to turn My heart shall sing of the day you bring. Let the fires of your justice burn Wipe away all tears for the dawn draws near and the world is about to turn Whoa, about to turn Whoa, about to turn Whoa, about to turn Can you feel it? Can you feel it? From the halls of power, to the fortress tower not a stone will be left on stone Let the king beware for your justice tears every tyrant from his throne The hungry poor shall weep no more for the food they can never earn There are tables spread every mouth be fed for the world is about to turn My heart shall sing of the day you bring. Let the fires of your justice burn Wipe away all tears for the dawn draws near and the world is about to turn For the world is about to turn For the world is about to turn For the world is about to turn For the world is about to turn

A Lullaby for You Gerald Gray, (c) 2012 When I look into my baby’s eyes I’m thankful for my little surprise So I’ll keep you safe from the storm outside This is a lullaby, for you When I hold my baby’s hand, so soft to touch, so gentle and I’ll stop the world, for you I can This is a lullaby, for you I’ll watch and keep you safe Don’t worry now, don’t be afraid If you stir I know what to do I’ll sing this lullaby, for you I’ll sing this lullaby, for you I’ll brush the hair back from your eyes A time to rest, no time to cry You snuggle in and let out a sigh This is a lullaby, for you Hold me close and rest your head A moment’s peace before it’s time for bed I’ll tuck you in and kiss your head This is a lullaby, for you I’ll watch and keep you safe Don’t worry now, don’t be afraid If you stir I know what to do I’ll sing this lullaby … Go to sleep… Close your eyes… Go to sleep… And dream… Hold me close and rest your head A moment’s peace before it’s time for bed I’ll tuck you in and kiss your head This is a lullaby, for you For you… for you… for you… for you… Performance Notes: Verse C, C/G, Am, Am/G F G (play the C and Am, then hammer on the G on the 6th string Chorus Dm, C, Dm, F, G Bridge Dm, C, Dm C Interlude Played the same as the verse

Soft gray, like a warm and cloudy day When the rain is gently coming down I look into your eyes and I see The only one I want to be around Looking into your eyes Looking into your eyes With all the hard times and the good times we been through I've seen your eyes shed a tear or two And through it all I've learned to believe In your eyes I see the possibilities Looking into your eyes Looking into your eyes Looking into your eyes Looking into your eyes The sunlight and the moonlight can't compare To the light I see in there I can hold you, and keep your hand in mine But your eyes show how much you care Looking into your eyes Looking into your eyes Looking into your eyes Looking into your eyes When I looked into your eyes know got a big surprise 'cause when I looked into your eyes my heart stopped Wasn't much there at the start but we started a little spark now that its turned into flame I knew I'd never be the same When I looked into your eyes (I knew I'd never be the same) When I looked into your eyes When I looked into your eyes When I looked into your eyes I just want to hold you tight curl up with you at night Because when gone at night this bed is too cold I know you wondered if I might leave and you wondered if I believed But when I looked into your eyes I knew I'd never say goodbye When I looked into your eyes (I knew I'd never say goodbye) When I looked into your eyes When I looked into your eyes When I looked into your eyes

I had a friend But he let me down All of my sorrows I thought he would drown It seemed to me That he’d ease my pain But I watched my life Get washed down the drain Give me one more, you know that I’ll be just fine I’m broken inside Oh can’t you see My friend’s just a cover For what’s wrong with me I just can’t break The cycle I’m in So won’t you join me We’ll have one again Give me one more, you know that I’ll be just fine You made me seem smart You made me seem cool But something was very wrong I guess you could you could say That I lost my way Now I’m just dead and gone I had my reasons My alibis My good intentions Turned into lies I’d always hoped To turn it around But it only turned My life upside down Give me one more, you know that I’ll be just fine

about

Our first effort since "Is Your Listerner On?" in 2003. This album reflects my interests, a mix of blues, rockers, ballads, and country. We broke out the harmonica, cajon, and mandolin. We turned a hymn into a rocking anthem. I used the resonator, acoustic, 12-string, and 6-string electric guitars. So... if you like things mixed up a bit, hopefully this project will be right up your alley.
